Simon Woodroffe

Simon Woodroffe OBE is a well known British Entrepreneur famed for starting the innovative restaurant brand YO! Sushi in 1997, hotel chain YOTEL, and an original Dragon in the BBC’s Dragon’s Den.

Some key facts:

  • Simon started YO! Sushi in 1997
  • In 1999 Simon won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
  • Simon was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2006
  • In 2008, Simon launched the YOTEL brand of airport and city hotels
  • Simon was one of the Dragons in the first series of Dragons Den in the UK
  • Simon launched a free extended e-book version of his Book of YO!’ in 2024
  • Simon is currently working on his autobiography ‘YO! Man’
